Drugs
A menace, but also a fact of life, Drugs are part and parcel of school life today.
This hard hitting book puts the drugs issue truly in perspective involving students personally at all levels at every turn of the page.
From considering the safe use of useful drugs in everyday life the book begins to unravel the unsavory use of illegal drugs - the classifications, the issues and the problems. The message is clear - "Say NO! to drugs!"
Growing misuse of illegal DRUGS could, in the near future, be a problem to a greater or lesser extent, in every school across the UK and worldwide - a bulletin from the UK Department of Health published recently indicated that 20% of 11 to 15 year olds in the UK had used drugs in the last year with 42% of pupils in this age group being offered one or more illegal drugs.
Despite best practice policies being in place in most schools there is still room for an even more upfront approach to the whole issue. Textercise Books have now tackled the illegal DRUGS issue head on, in a series of three pupil-centred books for those in aged 8 to 16 designed and written to highlight the problem, outline the tactics used by the pushers of such illegal DRUGS and provide an insight into the world of those unfortunate enough to be victims.
