What are Textercise Books?
Textercise Books are sold as a series of illustrated A4 Master copies in .pdf format which can be copied back to back then mid-stapled to make real A5 size books. When a purchaser buys a set of Textercise Book masters they can produce as many individual books as they wish – 10, 50 or even 500! providing that the books produced are just for use within one organisation.
These books are also unique in that they combine the formal qualities of a textbook with the more informal qualities of an exercise book to produce a “Textercise Book” with spaces provided for pupils to record their answers to the questions asked, to make comments and even to record points made during class discussion.
Who produces Textercise Books?
Textercise materials (books, worksheets and presentations) are produced by a highly experienced and talented team of working teachers and professional writers. Their aim is to produce materials for teachers to use with students of all ages and abilities in as ecomomical a way as possible.
What is the difference between Textercise books for those aged 8 to 12 and those aged 12 to 16?
Textercise Books for use with 12 to 16 year olds are for those children of average or above average ability. The material within this range is more “wordy” and requires a higher level of comprehension and understanding than books for 8 to 12 year olds.
All books follow the same pattern of content but the books for 8 to 12 year olds are less “wordy” and require a lower level of comprehension and understanding. There are more illustrations too.
The 8 to 12 year old versions are also suitable for less academic or less able children aged 12+. Producing the same material in two formats helps aid differentiation within mixed ability teaching situations.
Are Textercise Books suitable for English speaking children outside the UK?
Many most definitely are because they deal with issues that are international like bullying, peer pressure and self esteem. Many more are becoming international as the content of each is being rewritten to reflect common educational issues around the world.

Can I buy Textercise Books in any currency?
Yes, and while our site initially shows the cost in GBP our currency converter allows you to calculate the cost in your local currency at every step of the checkout process. You pay for your purchases in that currency too.
What subjects to Textercise Books cover?
Textercise Books at present offer materials for Work Experience, Work Related Learning, Personal and Social Education, Careers, Information Communication Technology, Business Studies and Science. This range of materials includes books, comprehension exercises and Powerpoint Presentations. Plans are already underway to expand the range of subject titles to include History and Geography. An expansion of the number of titles in our current range of subject categories is ongoing.
